Features: The emergence of discourse analysis as a specialized field of study, particularly in the field of French, is generally an inevitable phenomenon in the development of linguistics, especially since the late 1960s. This new field maintains a complex relationship with linguistics, and this relationship is redefined by the economy. As an activity, discourse analysis, like its connotation, exists on the premise of: the generation of specific objects, the state of conceptual systems, and the state of methodological frameworks for novel and appropriate research objects. Compared to other areas of the social sciences, the concept of "doing odd jobs" is more suitable for the challenges posed by the concept of "elements." Lévi-Strauss developed the concept of "doing odd jobs" to describe the characteristics of the development of this discipline. This book aims to teach fundamental knowledge and guide readers (undergraduates, teachers, knowledgeable amateurs) to broaden their horizons as much as possible in this innovative field. The core content of this field includes all theoretical achievements from literature to information science. This book consists of four chapters: the boundaries of the field, discourse and speech acts, the elements of textual unity, the structure of discourse, and overt heterogeneity, etc.
