Features: Landscape painting is a Chinese painting category that has been gradually developed over a long period in the cultural and artistic life of the Chinese nation. In the garden of Chinese painting, it is a unique and diverse flower with rich techniques, and has been loved by people since ancient times. Before the 5th century, landscape painting was merely a backdrop for figure painting, serving to embellish and complement the activities of figures, or it could be called a painting of geographical and topographical features. By the 5th century, after the Eastern Jin Dynasty, literati and scholars roamed the mountains and waters, forgetting time, and upon returning, they painted the mountains they had seen and hung them in their rooms for leisurely contemplation. This led to the formation of landscape painting that was detached from figures or reduced figures to a small scale. It matured through the Sui, Tang, and Five Dynasties periods, rising to the forefront of the art world. After the Song Dynasty, it became even more prosperous, with figures serving as embellishments in landscape painting, and the landscapes themselves being designed to be traversable, viewable, enjoyable to explore, and habitable. At the same time, landscape paintings without figures emerged, expressing emotions through scenery, with techniques becoming increasingly diverse. Each school developed its own unique style, and each generation shared common characteristics. Over a thousand years of continuous development, it has become a globally renowned and unique Eastern art form.
