Hamlet

Author: (English) William Shakespeare, translated by Bian Zhilin
Publisher:
Publish Date: 2003-06-01
Features: There have been over forty Chinese translations of Hamlet to date, among which the most widely used include translations by Tian Han, Liang Shiqiu, Zhu Shenghao, Lin Tongji, and Sun Dàyǔ. Among them, Bian Zhilin's translation is considered the superior one. If there is anything distinctive about my translation, it mainly has two points: First, to use vivid colloquial language as much as possible to cater to the reading preferences of modern readers; second, to strive to convey the genius, subtlety, and originality of Shakespeare as a master of language, especially to restore many rhetorical phenomena that were overlooked by previous translators.
