Features: "Encyclopedia" originates from the Greek word meaning "comprehensive education." Emphasizing the education and moral cultivation of adolescents has been a characteristic of human society for millennia. With history entering the 21st century, the long-standing human civilization has evolved from a single tree into a vast forest. In this context, the possibility of "comprehensive education" has faced unprecedented challenges. As editors, we have the responsibility to select the essence of knowledge created by humanity over thousands of years and publish a youth encyclopedia with Chinese characteristics for adolescents to refer to and learn from. The Encyclopedia of Chinese Youth is divided into three volumes: Nature and the Universe, Science and Technology, and Human Civilization, covering more than 40 disciplines, 3,000 knowledge points, and over 3,000 illustrations, with nearly 500 knowledge themes the entire book. With unprecedented content volume, innovative and unique layout design, scientifically rigorous text, and large-scale image production, it encompasses a vast amount of knowledge about human society and nature, creating a vibrant landscape where natural and social sciences blend seamlessly.
The vast universe, with billions of galaxies, contains Earth—the only known living world in the universe. The Nature and the Universe volume explores a wide range of fields, including the evolution of the universe, the transformation of the Earth, the evolution of life, and the morphology of plants and animals. It vividly presents the mysteries of nature, from the vastness of the cosmos to the microcosm of the microbial world, along with their phenomena, essence, laws, and variations. Modern science has brought humanity into a brand-new era, but the exploration and development of this world are far from complete. Today's world is more wondrous and astonishing than any myth humanity has ever used to explain its environment.
The Science and Technology volume introduces readers to a broad range of content, including natural sciences (physics, chemistry, mathematics, aerospace, biotechnology), transportation, engineering technology, military weapons, the human body, and medicine. It collects humanity's greatest achievements and creations in science and technology, guiding adolescents into an infinite world of science and technology. Humans are the advanced products of natural evolution. The Human Civilization volume vividly showcases the journey of human origins, evolution, and prosperity, while also compiling knowledge about language and writing, literature and film, fine arts and calligraphy, music and dance, sports and competition, as well as religion, customs, and national and international organizations. It presents a colorful and diverse cultural world to young readers.
The Encyclopedia of Chinese Youth is a collection of 21st-century knowledge, serving as a key to unlocking readers' wisdom. Organized according to a scientific structure and based on modern thinking, it presents complex knowledge and infinite principles in a clear and progressive manner, from simple to profound, from surface to depth. This allows young readers to expand their imagination while learning, embarking on an exciting intellectual journey through books.
