The characteristics of landscape teaching lie in seeking the ever-changing color transformations of nature amidst its vibrant scenery, and in the process of being nurtured by nature, discovering the mysteries of art. The ancients said, "Learn from the creation of nature and find the source within the heart." To truly excel in landscape painting, one must take nature as the teacher, seeking and experiencing the vivid and touching realm of color in the ever-changing and rich natural scenery, and creating landscape works with a unique artistic language. Currently, the styles of landscape teaching in China's art colleges vary. Some focus on the light and shadow and color of scenery, others emphasize the detailed depiction of color, some are more exercise-oriented, while others are more creative. Some combine their respective art majors, being either bold or delicate. Color landscape originated from Western painting, and its teaching methods are fundamentally based on traditional sketching techniques. Academic teaching still adheres to the laws and principles of color shaping, which is also the necessary path for watercolor painting to reach the of art.
