Features: To adapt to the reform and development of adult higher education in China and cultivate medical talents for the 21st century, the National Committee for the Compilation and Review of Specialized Textbooks for Adult Medical Education revised the first edition based on its usage, the arrangements of the committee, and the characteristics of adult education. This revision aims to broaden students' scientific thinking and strengthen fundamental theories while maintaining the specialized level and appropriately increasing depth. New developments and clinical correlations have been added to further highlight the scientific and practical nature of the textbook. The text is concise, with clear emphasis, making it convenient for self-study. The features are as follows:
1. Some chapters and sections have been adjusted, dividing Histology and Embryology into two parts. Although Histology and Embryology are two independent disciplines, they are closely related. In China's medical education, they are traditionally combined into one course.
2. During the revision process, we referenced domestic and international materials and added new developments or clinical-related content related to each chapter to broaden students' perspectives and foundational clinical knowledge.
3. To facilitate self-study, overlapping content between disciplines has been briefly described, and additional self-study materials have been added, marked with an asterisk ().
4. Illustrations have been adjusted and redrawn for greater clarity.
