Does prostatitis transmit through sexual intercourse?

Patient's question:

Relatives have recently been feeling unwell, experiencing urgency, pain, and frequent urination when using the restroom. The doctor said it's related to the prostate. I would like to ask if prostatitis can be transmitted during sexual intercourse?

Doctor's answer:

The causes of prostatitis can include prolonged sitting, excessive smoking and drinking, irritating foods, prolonged exposure to cold, and unclean sexual practices, among others. If it is ordinary prostatitis or chronic prostatitis, with an increase in lecithin corpuscles, white blood cells, or other bacteria not infiltrating, it will not be infectious. If the prostate has transmitted prostatitis accompanied by an increase in white blood cells or bacterial infection, it is usually contagious. The most common cause is excessive foreskin in males.
