Market Economy Tutorial - (Second Edition)

Author: Bai Yongxiu, Wang Junqi / Country: Mainland China
Publisher:
Publish Date: 2006-06-01
Features: As an undergraduate textbook, The Market Economy Course is too voluminous and difficult; as a graduate textbook, it appears too superficial and lacks forward momentum. Considering that in the two years since the publication of The Market Economy Course, China's market economy has advanced by leaps and leaps, and the development of market economy systems has become increasingly mature. With the strategic task of building a harmonious socialist society brought back to the agenda, we have consulted with the publisher and decided to split The Market Economy Course into two parts: The Market Economy Course will retain its original title and ISBN and will be dedicated to junior college and undergraduate students; Socialist Market Economy: Theory and Practice will be dedicated to MBA and graduate students. The volume of the former has been significantly reduced, from 22 chapters to 14, focusing on introducing the basic concepts and principles of the market economy that junior college and undergraduate students should master. The latter emphasizes the discussion of cutting-edge issues in the market economy, with efforts made in depth, breadth, and practical application. The purpose of this design is to achieve a clearer market positioning and better facilitate teaching. Unlike the first edition, the second edition includes new data, adds content such as "the stage of improving the socialist market economy theory" and "building a harmonious socialist society," and supplements the original chapters with new research findings from the economics community in the past two years and the Party's new progress in market economy theory from the 16th and 17th Central Committee Plenary Sessions. Some chapters have undergone significant structural adjustments, with new concepts and formulations added. Additionally, to facilitate teaching, we have created multimedia teaching materials for The Market Economy Course and have posted them on the website of the China Renmin University Press for download by university colleagues.
