In 1962, he attended the National Youth Organization Convention in Washington, D.C., as the student representative of Arkansas. After graduating from high school in 1964, he enrolled at Georgetown University, majoring in foreign affairs. He served as the president of the university student council and assisted U.S. Senator William Fulbright. In 1968, Clinton graduated from Georgetown University with a bachelor's degree in international politics and won a Rhodes Scholarship to study at the University of Oxford in the UK. In 1970, he entered Yale Law School in the U.S. and graduated in 1973 with a Ph.D. in law. That same year, he became a professor at the University of Arkansas. In 1976, Clinton served as the Attorney General of Arkansas. From 1978 to 1980, he served as the Governor of Arkansas, and from 1982 to 1992, he was re-elected as governor for five consecutive terms. During his tenure as governor, Clinton achieved success in promoting educational reforms and implementing economic development plans. He was elected as the Chairman of the Southern Economic Development Policy Council and concurrently served as the Chairman of the National Governors Association. He also assisted the President in overseeing the work of the National High Education Authority. In 1990, Clinton was elected as the Chairman of the Democratic National Committee. On November 3, 1992, Clinton was elected President of the United States and was re-elected on November 1996. He left office in January 2000. In April 2005, he was appointed as the U.N. Special Envoy for Tsunami Relief. Clinton has a wide range of interests, particularly in music, and is skilled in playing the saxophone. He once served as the principal saxophonist of the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra. From June 25 to July 3, 1998, Clinton visited China for a state visit. On June 29, he delivered a speech at Peking University and donated over 500 English books to the university library. In October 2003, at the invitation of the China Council for International Cooperation on Peace and Development, Clinton visited China and delivered a speech at Tsinghua University on issues such as AIDS. In September 2005, Clinton visited Zhengzhou and delivered a speech, expressing his hope for China's continued growth and strength.
