Features: The "Financial Knowledge Handbook" was first published in 1998. In the five years that followed, the international and domestic financial environments underwent profound changes, with new financial instruments and businesses constantly emerging. After China joined the World Trade Organization, foreign capital rushed into China's financial sector. It can be said that some content in this edition has now undergone significant changes, while new developments in the financial field that we must understand and master have also emerged. Therefore, the author of this book, with this purpose in mind, spent over a year in preparation and data collection before the second edition was finally published. With the acceleration of economic and financial globalization, finance, as the core of the modern economy, has become increasingly prominent in the national economy. Since 1998, China's financial industry has steadily developed through reform and opening-up. Especially with the implementation of a prudent monetary policy centered on expanding domestic demand, while moderately expanding money supply and bank credit, it has greatly optimized credit structure, prevented financial risks, and ensured the sustained rapid development of the national economy. The interaction between financial development and economic development has become a prominent feature of China's economic growth over the past five years. The development of modern finance has effectively promoted economic development while also increasing the severity and harmfulness of financial risks. Therefore, it is essential to enhance awareness of financial risk prevention. Since 1998, China has introduced a series of macro-control policies and has successfully withstood the impact of the Asian financial crisis. However, we must also recognize that risks in the international financial market still exist, and some uncertain factors remain in the domestic financial industry. We must attach great importance to financial risks and actively work to mitigate them. From the current financial situation, improving financial regulatory capabilities and standards has become particularly urgent and important.
We believe that the publication of the second edition of this book will be similar to the first edition, providing references for various levels of Party and government departments, financial workers, and enterprise management personnel in terms of popularizing modern financial knowledge and business, grasping the forefront of modern financial theory, and staying informed about the dynamics of domestic and international financial development.
