What are the causes of testicular pain

Patient's question:

These past few days, my right testicle has been experiencing intermittent pain. What could be the cause of this?

Doctor's answer:

Acute testicular pain is primarily caused by orchitis and injury. Except for blood infection, orchitis is more common, as bacteria travel retrograde from the urethra to the epididymis and testis, leading to epididymitis and orchitis. Swelling and pain of the epididymis and testis can be observed in clinical diagnosis. Testicular injury has a history of psychological trauma and local edema and congestion. Intense exercise, masturbation, or violence can cause strong contraction of the cremaster muscle, leading to testicular torsion with an excessively long spermatic cord, resulting in severe testicular pain.
