Features: The book primarily focuses on the following aspects during its compilation:
First, it emphasizes the introduction of theoretical knowledge. Polymer chemistry is built upon the foundations of organic chemistry and physical chemistry. In addition to the overall framework of the book being divided according to different polymerization mechanisms, we have dedicated more space to the kinetics and thermodynamics involved in reaction mechanisms in each chapter. For some new polymerization reactions, such as group transfer polymerization, controlled radical polymerization, and cationic active polymerization, although systematic theoretical systems have not yet been established, we have provided concise introductions.
Second, it pays attention to the characteristics of engineering textbooks, adding content such as monomer sources, new polymerization methods, and industrial synthesis routes of typical polymers.
Third, it focuses on cultivating learning abilities. We have included many self-study materials in the book to reduce the pressure of classroom learning.
