Features: In the new century, China's higher education reform has been further deepened, and the research endeavors in universities have been showing an increasingly prosperous trend. As a university affiliated with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Diplomatic Academy of China has consistently adhered to its research focus on diplomacy, serving China's foreign policy strategy. Currently, the development of the Diplomatic Academy of China is at a critical juncture. How to align with the requirements of scientific development, conscientiously plan and build the new campus in Changping and the talent pool, improve teaching quality and research standards, and strive to promote and ensure the scientific development of the academy is an important and urgent task before the university. The recently formulated "Five-Year Plan for the Diplomatic Academy of China" explicitly states that within about 10 years, the academy aims to become a research-teaching university with first-class operational strength and overall standards among similar institutions in the country, leading disciplines at the domestic level, and a high international reputation. As one of the core functions of the academy, research plays a significant role in achieving the development goals of a research-teaching university. To better reflect the outcomes of the "Science Week" activities and encourage faculty research enthusiasm, the Diplomatic Academy of China has been compiling and publishing the annual "Science Week" paper collection since 2002. This initiative holds positive significance. It not only provides faculty with a platform to exchange academic ideas and publish research findings but also serves to promote the development of the academy's discipline construction. Based on this, this book selects and compiles some of the papers from the 2005 "Science Week" for publication, serving as a reference for teaching and academic research.
