Features: 20 years after the birth of C++, it has become an undeniable mainstream programming language due to its powerful functionality, wide applicability, and high efficiency. However, the C++ language also faces challenges: its vastness and depth not only intimidate beginners but also make it difficult for even many experienced programmers to fully master it. Moreover, many C++ programmers continue to carry the historical baggage of C, often falling into subtle and complex safety and performance traps. Making modern C++ concepts deeply rooted and making C++ easier to learn and use has become a focal point of attention.
This book is a renowned classic C++ tutorial that has helped countless programmers worldwide learn C++. This new edition has been thoroughly revised, with both the content and organization of chapters restructured to significantly improve readability while fully reflecting the latest advancements in the C++ language and current industry best practices. It is a perfect blend of the rich practical experience of C++ master Stanley B. Lippman and the in-depth understanding of the C++ standard by Josée Lajoie, who was once the head of the C++ standard committee. The new edition also incorporates the insights of C++ pioneer Barbara E. Moo in C++ teaching. The comprehensive and authoritative exposition of fundamental C++ concepts and techniques, along with the emphasis on modern C++ programming styles, makes this book not only the best guide for beginners but also an indispensable reference for intermediate and advanced programmers.
