Muse - Moscow - Beijing - Selections of Contemporary Chinese Art

Author: Sun Yue

Publish Date: 2006-08-01
Features: The selection of Russian poet's works in this book is mostly derived from my experience interviewing Marina Nesterova, the president of Neshestorova University in Moscow in 2004. At that time, the Philosophy-Poetry Academy of the university published a beautifully bound and authoritative collection of Russian and French poets titled "International Poetry Festival," which served as a textbook for liberal arts students. The editor was Konstantin Kedrov, the president of the Philosophy-Poetry Academy, a nominee for the Russian Nobel Prize in Literature, the editor-in-chief of the magazine "Poet," and a poet himself. When Marina Nesterova presented me with the book, she asked me to translate the Russian poems in it. The poet Buznik, who was present, also added that we know how difficult it is to publish a poetry collection today, and you can take your time to find the opportunity. The opportunity indeed came today—2006 was China's "Year of Russia." Thus, the Russian section of this book began to be translated and revised based on "International Poetry Festival." During the compilation of the Russian section of this book, I received specific guidance from the leaders of the Russian Press and Publishing Department, the Russian Emigrant Literature Center, and the Russian International PEN Center in Moscow. It was truly a great honor!
