Features: An Sang-hyou was born in Chungju, South Korea in 1952. He graduated from Hongik University's Fine Arts Department and is a renowned designer. In 1985, he created the "An" typeface named after his surname, followed by the "Lee" typeface, "Myrrh" typeface, and "Mano" typeface. He founded An Design Office. Since 1991, he has served as a professor of visual design at Hongik University and as the vice president of the International Association of Design Organizations. An Sang-hyou is a representative designer of South Korea. He not only has a deep understanding of Korean traditional culture but also possesses a strong grasp of East Asian culture. His character is kind yet rational and proactive. In 2000, as the organizer of the International Design Conference held in South Korea, he successfully interpreted the culturally significant theme of "harmony." The following year, he hosted the Seoul Printing Craft & Design Exhibition with the theme of "print style," pioneering a new realm of global text culture for the IT era. An Sang-hyou's organizational skills not only demonstrate his personal capabilities but also hint at the immense future potential of the younger generation of designers in South Korea! His graphic design works have won awards in many international graphic design competitions. Notably, his typographic designs are highly regarded by the global graphic design community.
