Features: Distributed systems are a significant research branch in the field of computer software, involving numerous theoretical and practical issues such as communication, naming services, transaction processing, fault tolerance, and security in distributed environments. Since the 1980s, distributed systems have made breakthrough progress in many fields, appearing in various forms of middleware software and providing indispensable technical support for the construction of modern information systems. However, research on distributed systems still faces significant technical challenges and is plagued by many unresolved issues. China's research in distributed systems started relatively late, with weak foundations, and there is a considerable gap in the ability to develop software products compared to developed countries. The primary readers of this book are professionals in the field of computer software, including undergraduate and graduate students of computer science in universities and colleges. The book stands at the forefront of both international and domestic research in related fields, aiming to comprehensively introduce readers to the origins, theoretical foundations, algorithmic foundations, and key technical backgrounds of distributed systems, replication, and integration. Although it is not a book that explains how to develop software, it attempts to become a foundational reference for all software professionals.
