Features: This dictionary is primarily aimed at junior and senior high school students, but is also suitable for primary and secondary school teachers, college students, and general readers. The single characters in this book are mainly selected from classical Chinese poems and prose in the national common junior and senior high school Chinese textbooks, while also incorporating some content from traditional and local textbooks. Rare characters and commonly used characters with the same meaning in ancient and modern times are generally not included. Considering the actual situation of ancient Chinese teaching and learning in middle schools, to facilitate students' reference and study, this book not only includes nearly 3,000 single characters, but also selects about 300 compound words (including ancient and modern homonymous words and compound function words) from current middle school classical Chinese poems and prose texts, setting up special entries for their definitions, which enhances the practicality of the book and is one of its distinguishing features from similar books. The font in this book follows the "Total List of Simplified Characters" compiled and published by the Chinese Text Reform Committee, with corresponding traditional characters noted in parentheses, and phoneticized using Pinyin. Traditional and variant characters are generally not listed as separate entries, except for a few that must be listed individually.
