Features: To further implement the spirit of the "Decision of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the State Council on Deepening Educational Reform and Comprehensively Promoting Quality Education," and to meet the new needs of society for talent cultivation in higher vocational colleges, we have organized the writing of the "Readings on Humanistic Cultivation for Higher Vocational Students." The main purpose of compiling this textbook is: guided by the important thought of the "Three Represents" and the important speech of General Secretary Hu Jintao, with the comprehensive development of college students as the starting point and goal, starting from basic knowledge and common practices, to provide higher vocational students with an extracurricular supplementary reading material to enhance their humanistic cultivation. This textbook aims to explore and attempt to construct a technical talent cultivation model for Taizhou Vocational and Technical College, which focuses on the cultivation of higher applied technological abilities as the main objective and the cultivation of humanistic refinement as the foundation. As an attempt, it is not perfect and needs to be gradually improved through practice. The authors of this book are teachers, administrators, and researchers engaged in higher vocational education, familiar with the characteristics of higher vocational education and the conditions of higher vocational students. Therefore, this reading material should closely meet the needs of higher vocational college teaching and the actual needs of students' thoughts, making it convenient for self-study and practical application in real life. It is an applicable textbook with a strong sense of the times. However, due to the urgency of the situation, there are inevitable shortcomings in some contents and compilation forms of this textbook. It is fully expected that with the criticism and corrections from a broad user base, it will be gradually improved and refined.
