Features: "Interpretation of the Socialist Honor and Shame Values" is part of the research outcomes of the "Socialist Honor and Shame Values Research" project by the Institute of Moral Education, Nanjing Normal University, a key research base in humanities and social sciences under the Ministry of Education. In the process of teaching and research, we deeply felt that: morality can only have lasting power when it is rooted in people's hearts, and it can only form true personal charm. Furthermore, paying attention to the actual state of morality in people's lives holds more ontological significance for moral education. Based on this concept, we studied the relationship between honor and shame, which are both mutually opposed and mutually unified, from both objective evaluation and subjective intention, while also exploring some relationships within the honor and shame values. Subsequently, we conducted a historical examination of moral and immoral concepts such as loving or harming the motherland, serving or betraying the people, upholding science or ignorance, diligent labor or laziness, unity and mutual assistance or harming others for personal gain, honesty and betrayal for profit, abiding by the law or breaking it, and hard work or extravagance and debauchery, against the backdrop of the current society. The book also conducts an in-depth study of the psychological and social mechanisms behind these concepts. On this basis, it argues for the educational possibilities and proposes several educational methods.
