Post varicocelectomy, incomplete liquefaction of semen after one month?

Patient's question:

It has been one month since the varicocele surgery. I went to the hospital for a semen test, and the results still show that the liquefaction time of the semen is greater than one hour, and the liquefaction state is incomplete. What's going on?

Doctor's answer:

1: Sperm vitality is weak, a+b sperm motility should be >32%.
2: Semen does not liquefy. Recommendations:
1. Prevent the causes of weak sperm: Use fewer chemicals, avoid excessive noise, prevent prolonged intercourse, avoid overly greasy foods, quit smoking and alcohol, and avoid overexertion and steam baths.
2. Semen liquefaction issues may be due to:
1. Deficiency of trace elements such as zinc and selenium.
2. Prostatitis. Trace elements can be supplemented, and if prostatitis is present, anti-inflammatory treatment can be administered.
