How is varicocele treated and can it be improved?

Patient's question:

How is varicocele treated? I want to know what causes varicocele, what should I do, can it be cured, what causes it, what should I do, I don't know what's going on, I want to get pregnant, but I've never been able to get pregnant. Then I had a thorough check-up and it was said that I have varicocele. What does this mean, what should I do, can it be cured?

Doctor's answer:

Varicocele refers to the tortuous and dilated veins in the spermatic cord due to impaired venous return. Varicocele can be accompanied by testicular atrophy and impaired sperm maturation, leading to male infertility. Diagnosis requires spermatic vein angiography or color Doppler magnetic resonance imaging. This condition does not always require surgical treatment. In younger, unmarried individuals with symptoms, a scrotal support band can be used to lower the scrotum, which may alleviate the symptoms. Those without symptoms or with mild symptoms can use a scrotal supporter or wear boxer briefs. Symptoms often resolve after marriage.
