Author: Liu Daqian, Qin Tiehu (editors)

Publish Date: 2005-04-11
Features: This book is recommended by the Graduate Education Office of the Ministry of Education as a "Graduate Teaching Book" and is revised based on the first edition. This revision, in addition to correcting a few printing errors in the first edition and adding a short section at the end of Section 5.4, has made no other changes. The book aims to build a bridge between physics and partial differential equations, helping teachers, graduate students, senior undergraduate students, and scholars and researchers from other disciplines and applied fields master some important fundamental equations in modern physics, understand their origins and derivation processes, and grasp some key mathematical models commonly used internationally today. This enables them to learn and apply these models more consciously and to develop meaningful research topics. The book is published in two volumes. The first volume consists of 5 chapters, starting from basic physical concepts, introducing electrodynamics, fluid mechanics, magnetohydrodynamics, reactive fluid mechanics, and elasticity, with a focus on the entire process of establishing their fundamental equations. It also provides a brief explanation of the mathematical structure and characteristics of these equations and selectively introduces some recent research achievements internationally.
