Features: This book is written as a practical teaching material for the experimental component of the "Fundamentals of Computer Hardware Technology" course. Its main purpose is to be paired with the "Fundamentals of Computer Hardware Technology" textbook organized by the Ministry of Education's Teaching Guidance Committee for Engineering Computer Foundation Courses. Due to the principle of "broad writing, narrow use" adopted during its compilation, it has a wide range of applicability. Schools and programs at all levels and types that offer hardware-related courses such as "Fundamentals of Computer Hardware Technology," "Microcomputer Principles and Applications," "Microcomputer Interface Technology," and "Microcomputer Systems and Applications" can all use this book. The book includes four parts of experimental content: hardware fundamentals, microcomputer principles, microcomputer interfaces, and microcomputer applications.
The hardware fundamentals experiments focus on deepening students' understanding of typical logical functional components in computer systems, laying a solid foundation for learning and understanding the working principles of computers. This includes experiments such as the design and functional verification of basic operation and control components of computers, as well as the design of commonly used logical components in microcomputer application systems, totaling 12 experiments.
The microcomputer principles experiments emphasize helping students master the working principles and mechanisms of computers and their basic components, while training them in applying the 80X86 instruction set to design and write assembly language programs. This includes experiments such as the application of the 80X86 instruction set and assembly language program design, memory and I/O port expansion experiments, and interrupt and DMA mechanism experiments, totaling 16 experiments.
The microcomputer interface experiments focus on cultivating students' ability to design I/O interfaces using typical programmable interface chips and digital electronic technology. This includes experiments such as performance verification of typical programmable interface chips, comprehensive design experiments of multi-interface chips, and exploratory design experiments, totaling 28 experiments.
The microcomputer application experiments emphasize cultivating students' ability to independently design and debug actual microcomputer application systems by comprehensively applying microcomputer principles and interface technology. This includes experiments such as design guidelines for microcomputer application systems, design guidelines for automatic detection systems, real-time control system design experiments, and intelligent instrument device design experiments, totaling 23 experiments.
The experiments listed in this textbook are all discussed and explained with the 80X86 series microcomputer as the control core. If replaced with a microcontroller as the control core, slight modifications are sufficient for the same applicability. This book is suitable for students at various universities and colleges, as well as schools that offer computer hardware courses.
