Features: This book is a supplementary experimental textbook for the "21st Century Curriculum Textbook" Animal Physiology. Part I: General Introduction mainly introduces the teaching objectives, content, and requirements of animal physiology laboratory courses, common instruments and equipment, the working principles and operation of surgical instruments, basic experimental techniques in animal physiology, and the fundamental procedures and requirements for animal physiology research. Part II: Specific Topics selects 76 experiments from nine organ systems—cell, blood, circulatory system, respiration, digestion, energy metabolism and body temperature, urinary system and osmotic regulation, nervous system and sensation, endocrine system and reproduction. Each major can choose according to its needs. This book is primarily aimed at undergraduate and graduate students in animal production, animal medicine, wildlife resource conservation, and other related majors in higher agricultural, forestry, and fishery institutions. It can also serve as a teaching material for undergraduate and graduate students in biological science programs at comprehensive universities and normal universities, as well as a reference for relevant scientific workers.
