Features: This book is written based on the teaching requirements of "Fundamental Requirements for Engineering Drawing Education" and the discipline platform course "Descriptive Geometry and Mechanical Drawing" of the major in mechanical engineering. It is compiled on the basis of summarizing the experience gained from the teaching reform project "Reform of Teaching Content and Curriculum System for the Series Courses of Engineering Drawing and Mechanical Basics" implemented by our university in recent years under the guidance of the Ministry of Education. This book caters to the teaching needs of the 21st century, adhering to the cognitive pattern from three-dimensional solids to two-dimensional graphics. It integrates computer-aided two-dimensional and three-dimensional design and drawing with classical engineering drawing content. It also combines a series of form design exercises, including the configuration design of plane figures, the configuration design of basic solids, the configuration design of composite bodies, the design of parts, and computer-aided design, as a main thread. Throughout the book, the theory and methods of form design, as well as the teaching philosophy that should be followed, are implemented to achieve the teaching objectives of this course. This textbook is also accompanied by an electronic textbook, electronic diagrams, electronic models, and a proprietary, scientific, and efficient teaching aid software—Kaike CAD2000. It meets the needs of multimedia teaching and is also suitable for traditional teaching methods and approaches. This book can serve as a textbook for the courses of descriptive geometry and mechanical drawing in mechanical and near-mechanical disciplines of higher vocational colleges. It can also be used as a reference for teachers and students of higher industrial schools such as correspondence universities, vocational colleges, and distance education institutions, as well as relevant engineering technicians.
