What should I do if the testicles become hard due to orchitis?

Patient's question:

I was diagnosed with orchitis, and my testicles have recently become hard. The condition started manifesting at the beginning of this year. The conclusion from the ultrasound is that there are changes in the heterogeneity within the right testicle, and the right testicular head shows some heterogeneity with slight swelling. A month later, I noticed the hardness of the testicles. It's a bit sad. What should I do if the hardness of the testicles is caused by orchitis?

Doctor's answer:

Chronic orchitis is usually caused by delayed treatment of acute orchitis or may be brought on by certain bacterial infections. Pathologically, it may manifest as testicular swelling or hardening, hyalinization of the basal membrane of seminiferous tubules, and degenerative changes with loss of spermatogenic epithelial cells. Hardening may occur around the seminiferous tubules, or small fibrosis may form. It is recommended that you go to the hospital to accurately screen for the specific bacterial, viral, or other pathogens causing the orchitis infection and receive symptomatic treatment.
