Features: VisualBASIC (VB) is a tool for writing applications on the Windows platform. It is a modern, object-oriented, and structured language that has been rapidly promoted and used domestically and internationally in recent years. The syntax of VisualBASIC is basically the same as that of QBASIC. Learning VisualBASIC is much easier than learning other object-oriented computer languages (such as C++). VisualBASIC programming is divided into two parts: one is interface design (including the setting of properties); the other is the design of program code. Considering that most readers learning VisualBASIC have already taken programming courses and mastered a high-level language, this book does not intend to systematically introduce the syntax rules of VisualBASIC from the beginning. Moreover, introducing syntax systematically in one book while also systematically introducing interface design may lead to repetitive anding content, making the main line unclear and disconnected. Therefore, we have concentrated the basic syntax of VisualBASIC in Chapter 17 for easy reference. The main part of this book focuses on interface design, which is less familiar to beginners, as well as the use of objects, properties, events, and methods. We believe that this approach highlights the key points, facilitates reader understanding, and clearly explains the basic ideas and methods of VB programming with less content. The author of this book wrote a "Brief Tutorial on VisualBASIC" in 1998, introducing the application of VB4.0. Based on this book, Professor Tan Haoqiang systematically taught it on CCTV. Now, in response to the needs of vocational and technical education development, the author has written this book based on the success of the previous one. This book introduces the use of VB and how to develop Windows applications with VB. The author, catering to the characteristics of vocational and technical college students, emphasizes practical skills rather than treating it as a purely theoretical course. Instead of the traditional "introduce a concept—explain the concept—illustrate with examples" trilogy, this book adopts a new trilogy: "present a problem—introduce methods to solve it—summarize necessary conclusions and concepts." Through numerous examples, it illustrates the features, functions, and applications of VB. This book has a well-structured system, clear organization, lucid concepts, abundant examples, and is easy to understand, making it an excellent introductory book for learning VisualBASIC. This book is based on the VB6.0 version. If conditions do not permit using VB6.0, using a slightly lower version (such as VB5.0 or VB4.0) as the hands-on environment is also acceptable. The main concepts, steps, and methods are similar, though the interface may differ. VB6.0 has a high degree of localization, with many interface texts translated into Chinese, while VB4.0 is mostly in English. This book can be used as a textbook for higher vocational and technical colleges, as well as for computer training classes and self-study reference. This book is accompanied by an electronic teaching plan.
