Features: The new edition of "Introduction to Operations Research" includes some simpler proofs when discussing the main branches of operations research. On one hand, this helps clarify the concepts; on the other hand, it trains students to use mathematics for creative problem-solving through the teaching of operations research. The book has a broad readership. "Fundamentals of Economic Applied Mathematics" is a textbook commissioned by the Ministry of Education for trial use in higher financial and economic institutions, divided into five volumes in total. "Introduction to Operations Research" is the fifth volume of this series. The new edition includes some simpler proofs when discussing the main branches of operations research. On one hand, this helps clarify the concepts; on one hand, it trains students to use mathematics for creative problem-solving through the teaching of operations research. Some chapters have been strengthened, such as game theory and nonlinear programming. The inclusion of game theory content is to meet the current need in fields such as economics, management, and finance to apply economic game theory to study real-world problems. The strengthening of certain theoretical content in nonlinear programming (especially the Kuhn-Tucker theorem) is because these theories are used as foundations in discussions in fields such as economics (e.g., microeconomics, mathematical economics, quantitative economics, etc.). At the same time, a new chapter has been added on a new area in operations research—data envelopment analysis (DEA). Certain chapters have also been removed, such as the chapter on "Quality Management." Additionally, a new chapter on "Linear Programming" has been added, providing an introduction to linear programming (the book "Linear Programming" by Hu Fuchang has been published as an independent book within "Fundamentals of Economic Applied Mathematics"). The addition of this chapter is because subsequent chapters in the book (such as nonlinear programming, multi-objective programming, integer programming, game theory, data envelopment analysis, etc.) require certain content from linear programming.
