Features: Accounting has developed alongside the growth of the commodity economy. As the fundamental characteristics of modern financial accounting take shape, accounting also faces rapid changes in the economic environment and continuous innovation in business, presenting us with many new accounting challenges. Especially since we have joined the WTO, Chinese enterprises will encounter highly complex accounting issues such as cross-border operations. Advanced Accounting meets this need, as its content not only helps students deepen and enhance their understanding of accounting practice and theory but also aligns their knowledge structure and level with international and future standards. Without a systematic understanding of advanced accounting, it is difficult to address these complex issues. Therefore, advanced accounting is essential in both undergraduate and graduate teaching. Advanced Accounting builds upon Intermediate Accounting and discusses specialized accounting fields and more advanced accounting issues. Currently, there is no consensus in academia on what constitutes advanced accounting or what content it should cover. Generally, advanced accounting is considered to be based on traditional financial accounting, reflecting and supervising emerging, specialized, and innovative business activities that break traditional financial accounting concepts. Together with introductory and intermediate accounting, it forms a complete financial accounting system. There are many research-worthy topics in advanced accounting. Here, we have selected some important issues faced by modern enterprises and enterprise groups under market economy conditions as the research content, including: business combination accounting, foreign currency transaction accounting, price fluctuation accounting, lease accounting, and other special business accounting. Currently, in the accounting reform aimed at aligning with international accounting practices, the practice in these fields by China's accounting professionals can be said to still be in its early stages. However, from a forward-looking perspective, while promoting, explaining, and commenting on China's current accounting systems and practices, we should also strive to reflect the new developments in accounting. Therefore, based on the current state of China's economic development, discussions on certain issues may have a significant forward-looking nature.
Based on the above considerations, we envision that in the process of writing Advanced Accounting, we should boldly update the content while appropriately raising the starting point. Rooted in China but with an international perspective; focusing on the present but looking toward the future, integrating fundamental, practical, and necessary forward-looking elements should be the main characteristics of this book. Of course, in the writing process, we strive to strike a balance between depth and accessibility, making the content easy to understand while highlighting novelty in simplicity and seeking rationality in the organizational structure.
