Features: At Renmin University of China, there had been early initiatives to organize the compilation of graduate textbooks. However, at that time, the curriculum system for graduate students was still lacking in standardization. Not only were various courses primarily set up according to secondary disciplines (specialties), with a narrow scope, but there were also significant differences in courses even within the same primary discipline or secondary discipline (specialty). Moreover, some courses failed to distinguish themselves from undergraduate-level courses, resulting in repetitive teaching content. Therefore, compiling graduate textbooks, a foundational task directly related to the quality of graduate education, had only been attempted in certain disciplines or specialties and had not been placed on the agenda of the entire university.
