Features: This book is based on the spirit of the "Basic Requirements for Teaching Heat Engineering Principles" formulated by the Teaching Guidance Committee of Heat Engineering of the Ministry of Education, and is also developed in accordance with the teaching syllabus of "Fundamentals of Heat Engineering" at Shanghai Jiao Tong University. It is suitable for teaching in non-energy and power engineering majors and non-heat engineering majors in universities. The book is divided into two parts. Part 1 consists of seven chapters, covering the basic content of engineering thermodynamics, including fundamental concepts, the laws of thermodynamics, the second law of thermodynamics, the properties of gases, steam, and moist air, thermodynamic processes of gases, thermodynamic analysis of heat engine equipment and devices, and the rational utilization of thermal energy. Part 2 consists of four chapters, discussing the basic content of heat transfer, including conduction, convective heat transfer, radiant heat transfer, heat transfer processes, and the basic concepts and calculation methods of heat exchangers. The book includes examples, exercises, and necessary heat engineering charts and tables. It can also be used as a reference for students and scientific and technological workers in related fields.
