This book includes the following content: Chapters 1 to 5 are the fundamental theory part, covering the solid structure of materials, the solidification and crystallization of materials, binary phase diagrams, the deformation and fracture of materials, and the solid-state phase transformations and heat treatment of materials; Chapters 6 to 8 are on engineering materials, including metal materials, non-metallic materials, and composite materials; Chapter 9 covers material corrosion, environmental effects, stress corrosion, corrosion control, and protection. This book is based on the recently promulgated teaching syllabus and is primarily intended as a technical foundation course textbook for majors such as mechanical engineering, electronics, internal combustion engines, water conservancy, and chemical engineering. It can also serve as a reference book for engineering and technical personnel.
