Features: The bacteriological warfare waged by the Japanese invaders against the Chinese people and military forces was almost widespread, and the types of bacteriological weapons used were diverse. This book is an investigation into the survivors and victims of the plague disaster caused by the Japanese invaders in Inner Mongolia. The author has made every effort to interview the parties involved, the relatives of the victims, and cite relevant historical records. It investigates and provides evidence of the large-scale tragedy of death that occurred in Inner Mongolia's Wuyemiao in 1945, before the Japanese surrender, when the 731 Unit of the Japanese military released the plague, resulting in the deaths of more than 3,000 civilians and military personnel, nearly 200 Soviet, and a small number of Japanese soldiers who were unable to retreat. This act also led to a massive outbreak of plague for the following three years, causing the death of one-tenth of the city's population. The author has made this little-known and horrifying crime public.
When the Japanese aggressors carried out bacteriological warfare, they often took strict measures to prevent any secrets about the production and implementation of bacteriological weapons from leaking. When they deemed it necessary, they would destroy the entire facilities, materials, and documents of the bacteriological units, even attempting to deny the existence of units like 731 and 100. This made it difficult to obtain evidence from the perpetrators, i.e., Japan, and, coupled with the passage of time, even the victims and their descendants in the affected areas had little knowledge of this fact. As the author states, the reality of bacteriological warfare "is deeply rooted in the memories of individual lives but is largely forgotten by society as a whole." For this very reason, such investigation and evidence collection are particularly necessary.
