Patient's question:
Over the past two weeks, my glans has been itchy, and there is redness on the glans and foreskin. When I wash it with water, I notice a lot of white discharge. Sometimes when I squeeze or touch it, it feels painful. When I wash it with my hands and water, I feel a mild burning sensation and increased itching in the coronal sulcus of the glans. I initially thought that frequent washing would help, but after a few days, I realized it hasn't improved. I don't know what to do. Please advise, what is wrong with me? How should I treat it? What is causing the itchy and red glans?Doctor's answer:
It could be balanoposthitis. It may be caused by unclean sexual activity and phimosis, leading to infections with Staphylococcus, Streptococcus, E. coli, Candida albicans, Trichomonas, Chlamydia, Mycoplasma, fungi, Neisseria gonorrhoeae, or other bacteria. Alternatively, it may result from phimosis, insufficient hygiene, and the accumulation of unclean substances between the foreskin and glans, known as smegma, which can irritate the local foreskin and mucosa, causing inflammation again. Additionally, maintain a regular lifestyle in daily life and avoid prolonged sitting.
