Author: Zhang Naigen

Publish Date: 2002-12-01
Features: This book is a selection of high-level papers from nearly 120 submissions. It is divided into four parts, each interconnected yet relatively independent. Part I includes 8 papers that comprehensively reflect the fundamental views of Chinese international law scholars on the major issue of combating international terrorism and the contemporary international legal order. From these papers, one can see both the basic consensus among the authors on major principles and the differing perspectives that lead to disagreements on specific issues. Part II features 11 papers selected from nearly 50 submissions on this topic. Due to space constraints, many excellent papers had to be omitted for various reasons. The editors believe that WTO law is a very complex and vast branch of contemporary international law, and this book cannot cover all its topics. However, the importance of these subjects is self-evident. Part III includes 7 papers that discuss the new developments in international environmental law, marine environmental protection, import and export management, and the World Bank's environmental considerations and state responsibility for environmental damage. The topics covered are of great concern to the public. Part IV features 5 papers that focus on the discussions among scholars at the symposium on new issues in international civil and commercial arbitration. The appendix of this book includes a summary of the symposium and a complete list of all papers, which helps readers gain a comprehensive understanding and facilitates further communication with the authors.
