In 2005, significant new achievements were made in the legal construction of banking in China and internationally, primarily reflected in the following aspects: , From the perspective of banking legislation and adjudication in China, the revisions of the Company Law and the Securities Law further improved the banking legal system, providing a more robust legal framework and safeguards for the deepening and healthy development of the banking sector, elevating the legal construction of banking to a new level. Second, from the perspective of international banking legal construction, new developments were seen in international regulatory guidelines, normative documents of international organizations, and the legal construction of banking in countries with relatively advanced financial legal systems. Third, from the perspective of academic research on banking law in China, experts and scholars proposed recommendations and suggestions for improving the legal construction of banking from various angles and issues. The purpose of compiling the 2005 edition of The Annual Report on Banking Law is to objectively record the achievements of banking legal construction in 2005, explore the existing problems and shortcomings in legislation and adjudication, look ahead to the prospects for the development of banking law in China in 2006, and reflect the banking sector's expectations for the future development and improvement of the legal system.
