Features: Most of the articles in this volume are research findings closely related to social issues that have received widespread attention in the field recently. Professor Liu Hua of Central China Normal University's research findings "Patent System and Economic Growth" summarize and generalize the performance of China's patent system over the past decade through economic analysis, affirming the role of the patent system in promoting economic growth. Mr. Fu Dao's "New Developments and Reflections on Computer Software Patent Policy" analyzes the patentability of computer software on the basis of a comprehensive introduction to the new developments in computer software patent protection policies in the United States, Japan, and the European Union. The conclusion drawn is that computer software has no fundamental difference from general inventions, and thus computer software should not be excluded from the scope of patent protection. Although this view has not yet been widely accepted, it reveals an irreversible trend. It can be considered that the patentability of computer software no longer requires in-depth discussion, and the issue worthy of serious research should be how to provide "appropriate protection" for computer software in the field of patents.
