Features: Cases, as an important carrier of adjudicative activities, play an indispensable role in summarizing adjudicative experience, guiding judicial practice, promoting legal research, and assisting legal education. Mr. Luo Haocai, former Vice President of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and former Vice President of the Supreme People's Court, and Mr. Sun Wanzhong, former Executive Vice President of the China Legal Society, have long advocated for publishing a series of casebooks that combine cases with annotations through the medium of "People's Courts Cases." This approach aims to not only facilitate the summary and dissemination of judicial practice experience but also help readers grasp the doctrines related to the application, development, and unresolved issues of actual cases handled by the People's Courts, thereby addressing the shortcomings of formal education. Under the guidance of Mr. Luo Haocai and Mr. Sun Wanzhong, our publishing house has summarized past experience in case compilation, fully absorbed the strengths of similar books, and after extensive deliberation and preparation, has launched the "Cases and Annotations of the People's Courts" series. Cases, as an important carrier of adjudicative activities, play an indispensable role in summarizing adjudicative experience, guiding judicial practice, promoting legal research, and assisting legal education. The "Cases and Annotations of the People's Courts" series is divided into four main parts: civil, commercial, criminal, and administrative. Each part is further subdivided into several volumes based on different case types. The specific classification standards are as follows: the civil, commercial, and administrative sections are divided according to the case types announced by the Supreme People's Court for civil and administrative cases, while the criminal section follows the division system of the Criminal Division of the "Criminal Law of the People's Republic of China." The selected cases are compiled from highly representative and typical cases published in the Supreme People's Court's bulletin and by various levels of courts and their specialized divisions through other means. These cases either reflect the common characteristics of a certain type of case, highlight the difficulties and ambiguities in judicial practice, or fill certain legal gaps. The selection scope is guided by the objective of instructing judicial practice and is not limited by the level of the court. Judges, prosecutors, and lawyers can refer to these cases for handling cases, and they are also useful for teaching and research purposes.
