Why do men get varicocele?

Patient's question:

My husband has been diagnosed with varicocele for a long time, and he is very distressed. Could you please ask the doctor why men develop varicocele?

Doctor's answer:

Generally, varicocele is accompanied by testicular pain, aching sensation, tenderness, swelling, and a worm-like varicose vein. It is typically classified into three degrees:
1. A sense of heaviness and fullness, pain, and discomfort during movement.
2. The presence of the above symptoms, and the varicose veins can be palpated.
3. The varicose veins are visible, appearing like worms.
It is recommended that if you suspect varicocele, you should undergo a detailed ultrasound examination at the hospital for a definitive diagnosis and prompt treatment. Varicocele can interfere with fertility, but this is usually due to long-term interference, and early-stage interference is not as apparent.
