How to treat varicocele well

Patient's question:

Recently, I've been experiencing persistent or intermittent dull, aching, and dull pain in the scrotum, which can radiate to the lower abdomen. After examination, it was found to be varicocele. What should I do if I have varicocele? What should I do if I have varicocele?

Doctor's answer:

Varicocele refers to the abnormal dilatation and tortuosity of veins in the spermatic cord due to impaired venous. In younger, unmarried individuals with symptoms, a scrotal support band can be used to lower the scrotum, which may alleviate the symptoms. Those without symptoms or with mild symptoms may only need to use a scrotal harness or wear tight-fitting underwear. Symptoms usually resolve after marriage. For more severe cases, high ligation of the spermatic vein can be performed, which involves ligating all branches of the spermatic veins at the internal inguinal ring. Currently, the best surgical approach is laparoscopic high ligation of the spermatic vein.
There are many treatment methods for male urological conditions, but the diagnostic approach varies depending on the patient's specific condition. Therefore, it is recommended that patients seek early diagnosis and treatment upon noticing symptoms.
