Features: As a distinct branch, Discrete Mathematics has appeared in the world for a relatively short time, not even a century, yet a significant portion of its content has long been present in mathematics. Why were certain contents from various mathematical branches gathered and studied under a new name—Discrete Mathematics? This is primarily due to the emergence and development of computer science. As Engels said, "The state of science is largely dependent on the state and needs of technology. If there is a technical demand in society, it can push science forward more than ten universities."① The emergence of computers has greatly influenced people's thoughts and lives, playing a significant role in social production. To study the theoretical foundations of computer science, Discrete Mathematics came into being. Therefore, if we consider it from the perspective of applied mathematics rather than pure mathematics, perhaps renaming Discrete Mathematics as "Mathematical Foundations of Computer Science" would better clarify the issue. For this very reason, it has become a mandatory foundational course for computer science and information management departments. Practical evidence has proven that this approach is correct.
