Features: The Self-Study Examination English Tutor is designed to help a wide range of self-study candidates master "College English Self-Tutoring Course" and better adapt to the examination syllabus. Based on years of experience in using "College English Self-Tutoring Course" and providing assistance and guidance to English self-study learners, this book has been compiled. The entire book is divided into two volumes. The first volume is with the "English (I) Self-Study Examination Syllabus" and "College English Self-Tutoring Course" (Volume 1), intended for self-study candidates in the junior college section. The second volume is with the "English (II) Self-Study Examination Syllabus" and "College English Self-Tutoring Course" (Volume 2), intended for self-study candidates in the undergraduate section. The main content of each volume is as follows:
1. Word and Phrase Explanations. This section provides detailed explanations of words and phrases from the word lists at the end of A and B texts (excluding vocabulary already processed in Word Study), covering aspects such as word formation, meaning, and usage, through specific examples to help candidates understand, comprehend, and memorize English vocabulary.
2. Analysis and Explanation of Text Difficulties. This section analyzes and explains complex sentence structures or language points with exploratory significance in the A and B texts, helping candidates gain a deeper understanding of the texts. Annotations already provided in the textbook are not repeated here.
3. Reference Translations and Exercise Answers. The reference translations and exercise answers provide convenience for self-study learners during self-study and self-assessment.
4. Supplementary Exercises. While studying the textbook, to better adapt to the needs of actual exams, we have compiled a certain number of supplementary exercises that align with the exam format and requirements. These mainly include:
- Reading Comprehension (Reading Comprehension) from B texts (using the multiple-choice format consistent with the exam questions),
- Word Spelling,
- Word Form Fill-in-the-Blanks,
- Cloze Test,
- Sentence Chinese-to-English Translation (C-E Translation),
- Short Passage English-to-Chinese Translation (E-C Translation).
By adding and supplementing these targeted exercise materials, the learning of the textbook can be more closely integrated with exam preparation.
