Features: The Self-Study English Course for the College English Self-Tutorial Course is designed to help a wide range of self-study candidates master the College English Self-Tutorial Course better and adapt more effectively to the examination syllabus. Based on years of experience in using the College English Self-Tutorial Course and in assisting and tutoring English self-study candidates, this book has been compiled. The book is divided into two volumes. The first volume is with the Syllabus for the Self-Tutorial Examination of English (Part 1) and the College English Self-Tutorial Course (Part 1), and is intended for self-study candidates in the junior college section. The second volume is with the Syllabus for the Self-Tutorial Examination of English (Part 2) and the College English Self-Tutorial Course (Part 2), and is intended for self-study candidates in the undergraduate section. The main contents of each volume are as follows:
1. Word and Phrase Explanations. This section explains the words and phrases in the word lists after the A and B texts, excluding those already processed in Word Study, from aspects such as word formation, meaning, and usage, through specific examples, to help candidates understand, comprehend, and memorize English vocabulary.
2. Analysis and Explanation of Difficult Points in Texts. This section analyzes and explains the more difficult or complex sentence structures or language points with exploratory significance in the A and B texts, to help candidates gain a deeper understanding of the texts. Where annotations are already provided in the textbook, they are not repeated here.
3. Reference Translations of Texts and Answers to Exercises. The reference translations and answers to exercises will provide convenience for self-study candidates during self-study and self-assessment.
4. Supplementary Exercises. While studying the textbook, to better adapt to the needs of the actual examination, we have compiled a certain number of supplementary exercises that are consistent with the format and requirements of the examination. These mainly include reading comprehension (Reading Comprehension) from the B text (using the multiple-choice format consistent with the questions), word spelling (Word Spelling), word form fill-in-the-blanks (Word Form), cloze test (Cloze Test), sentence Chinese-to-English translation (C-E Translation), and short passage English-to-Chinese translation (E-CTranslation). By adding and supplementing these targeted exercise materials, the learning of the textbook can be more closely integrated with the preparation for the examination.
