Here, the term "Western Economics" can be considered a shortened or alternative name for the term "bourgeois political economy," which distinguishes it from Marxist political economy. As for "modern," it generally refers to the period from the 1930s of this century to the present. Therefore, the book could also be titled "Contemporary Bourgeois Political Economy," which includes the two major components of modern economics—microeconomics and macroeconomics. This book is a textbook compiled to meet teaching needs, primarily drawing on some popular, similar, or similarly named works from Western countries. After World War II, Western economics gradually divided political economy (theoretical economics) into two main parts: microeconomics and macroeconomics. Macroeconomics examines the economic operation of an entire society, differing from microeconomics, which focuses on the behavior of individual economic entities. This book is the macroeconomics part of the "Modern Western Economics" published by our press. It is divided into six parts and twenty-two chapters, covering basic macroeconomic concepts and measurement, static equilibrium models of national income determination, monetary theory and policy, post-Keynesian macroeconomics, dynamic economics, and international economics. The second edition, in addition to textual and scientific revisions throughout the book, also includes additional content such as the golden rule. Furthermore, the hardcover versions of the microeconomics and macroeconomics parts will be published separately to meet the needs of readers at all levels.
