"Listen to This" is a series of listening courses developed according to the requirements of the "Teaching Syllabus for the Basic Stage of English Majors in Higher Education" and the "Teaching Syllabus for the Advanced Stage of English Majors in Higher Education" promulgated by the Ministry of Education, tailored to the characteristics of English teaching in China. The entire course is divided into beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels, each accompanied by a Student Book, a Teacher Book, and corresponding tapes. Compared to existing listening courses in China, "Listen to This" covers various aspects of daily life and has the following features:
(1) Fresh content, completely selected from authentic English and American audio materials.
(2) Standard American or British pronunciation, with clear recordings.
(3) Diverse and lively exercise formats, reinforcing training from multiple angles.
This software is designed based on "Listen to This 2: Intermediate English Listening." It perfectly integrates all content from the original Student Book, Teacher Book, and its 11 accompanying tapes, totaling 36 lessons. Each lesson is divided into three parts, covering all exercises from the original book and arranged in a similar format.
The design is highly functional, allowing users to freely select lessons and exercises. Each lesson includes buttons for "Vocabulary," "Answers," and "English Scripts," facilitating pre-listening preparation, on-the-spot answer checking, and access to the English original. Additionally, through the processing and organization of the original book's glossary, the "Vocabulary" function offers sequential word reading, selective reading, and detailed definitions for each word, with thoughtful intervals for imitation practice, helping learners familiarize themselves with the listening material in advance.
The exercise design is rich and varied, primarily consisting of multiple-choice, fill-in-the-blank, and writing questions. While striving to maintain consistency with the original book, it enhances interactivity and intelligence based on CD-ROM features, maximizing convenience for learners.
This software is particularly suitable for:
(1) University students or senior high school and vocational college students
(2) Individuals with intermediate English proficiency
(3) Those who wish to further practice intensive listening and break through the "listening bottleneck."
