Patient's question:
Previously, during a physical examination, I was found to have prostatic calcification. Since there were no symptoms, I didn't take it seriously. However, recently I have been feeling unwell. Could you please tell me how to treat prostatic calcification effectively?Doctor's answer:
Prostatic calcification and fibrosis are scars left behind after recurrent prostatitis, indicating the potential for prostatic calculi. Prostatic calculi are often accompanied by chronic prostatitis, which can usually be detected through careful ultrasound examination. Due to the unique structure of the prostate, there is generally no effective treatment for recurrent fibrosis or calculi. Bacteria tend to grow on calcified (fibrotic) stones, making them a recurring cause of prostatitis that should not be ignored. Fibrotic spots in the prostate are typically caused by chronic prostatitis or prostatic calculi, and they generally do not cause symptoms or require treatment.
