If you have varicocele, how should it be treated?

Patient's question:

I just returned from the military this year. It's possible that I got varicocele from standing guard during my service. My family has introduced me to a partner and I want to get married and have children as soon as possible. However, my condition hasn't been fully treated yet, and I'm very distressed. Please ask: How should varicocele be treated?

Doctor's answer:

This requires consultation with a urologist, but surgery is not always necessary. First, a testicular ultrasound should be performed to check the extent of varicocele expansion. If it is mild, there is no discomfort, and sperm quality is normal, surgery may not be required. Wearing supportive {type: four-sided} underwear can help prevent prolonged sitting or standing and improve blood circulation, which can also achieve certain therapeutic effects. If the expansion diameter is structurally abnormal or less than three millimeters, or if sperm quality is reduced, minimally invasive surgery to ligate the spermatic cord may be necessary. Varicocele is prone to recurrence, and long-term medication is often required.
