English Business Letter Writing

Features: This book is intended for senior undergraduate students in English majors and business-related fields, MBA students, dual-degree programs, as well as individuals preparing for the International Business Professionals Qualification Examination or the Foreign Trade Personnel Qualification Examination. It can serve as both a textbook and a reference book. The examples in this book are presented in three ways. The first type is explained in detail after the theoretical discussions in each chapter, used to illustrate key points and facilitate communication between the author and readers. The second type is placed after the above content, with each example marked as "Poor," "better," etc., without explanation, leaving room for teachers to elaborate in class or for students and teachers to discuss the chapter topics together. Some examples provide two or more revised versions, generally with the latter being better than the former. Sometimes, comparing different phrasings is not enough to identify the issues. The third type is assigned under the subheading "Classroom Workouts" at the end of each section, serving as exercises for readers to apply what they have learned after studying each chapter. Additionally, it should be noted that most examples in this book, apart from correcting spelling errors, numeral usage, punctuation, etc., are kept in their original form as collected. This arrangement helps readers identify their own problems in related topics. It is hoped that this approach will encourage discussions between teachers and students, motivate readers to participate actively, and train them to promptly recognize all issues in each example.
