Features: Inside the tiny dumplings lies a shining world, so vast and boundless, filled with endless love. I discovered a world inside the dumplings. Li Weiwei's family knows that I love dumplings. The fragrant filling, thin wrappers—the mere thought makes my mouth water. So, every Sunday, Mom would make a batch of dumplings for me. Mom's dumpling-making skills are amazing. When I was little, I loved watching Mom make dumplings. The moment she held the wrapper in her hand and placed the filling inside, I thought it was the classic move in dumpling-making. Every time, I'd rest my chin in my hands, watching in awe. Then, Mom would wipe some flour from her hands on my nose and laugh, saying, "Go play somewhere else, the dumplings will be ready soon!"
My discovery came from a Sunday in autumn. That morning, I was very happy because I would get to eat delicious dumplings for lunch again. I wanted to play first, but just as I opened the door to go out, Mom suddenly called out that her stomach hurt. Concerned, I asked if she needed to go to the hospital. Mom said, "It's nothing, it'll go away in a bit. Go play, I still need to make dumplings for you at noon!"
By noon, I came home and found no one there. I was very puzzled. It wasn't until that evening that I learned, after I left, Mom's stomach pain got worse, and she was taken to the hospital. The doctors discovered she had sudden gallstones and needed to be hospitalized for treatment. Clearly, I wouldn't be eating dumplings this Sunday. P40
